What's New
- Client Story: Andy Byrd and Whippoorwhill Hollow
Becky Brightwell, project manager of AgrAbility in Georgia, often compares Georgia farmer and AgrAbility client Andy Byrd to Walt Disney. While Andy Byrd is not a famous screen producer and Walt Disney was not an organic farmer with a disability, Andy, like Walt Disney, is a visionary. It was Andy’s vision that helped him create Whippoorwill Hollow Organic Farms all from the seat of his 4x4 wheelchair.
- "Ultimate All-Terrain Test"
Successful Farming magazine editors took a week to test
and evaluate several ATVs. See their comments and specific ATV
comparison
test results. (2/08)
- "Ultimate All-Terrain Test:" Successful Farming's team of trail riders
and engineers put
several utility vehicles (UVs) and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) through a
series
of tests. What they found may be of interest to AgrAbility staff and/or
farmers and ranchers
with a disability when considering these vehicles (2/08).
- The Guide to Financing Business and/or Assistive Technology (PDF) offers funding resources available through public disability-related funding sources, private disability-related programs or charitable organizations, USDA, and the Small Business Administration. The Guide also provides numerous examples of how AgrAbility clients used the funding awarded (1/08)

While Gary was still in the hospital, Gregg Sparks, Gary’s neighbor, began organizing friends and neighbors to help him. Before long, Gregg had amassed a team of forty neighbors united in a single mission: Get Gary back to farming.

- Summer 2007 Newsletter - Polio: Lasting Effects
In 1944, when the Polio epidemic was still sweeping across the nation, it found two-year-old Gerald Anderson. As a result of the viral infection Gerald had to learn to adapt to a slightly underdeveloped left arm. Yet, as he grew up on his family’s sheep farm in central Utah, his weakened left arm did not slow him down.
